Yes, those dishes are my style! Kind of wabi-sabi. We’ve been waiting for the Hotel Lutetia renovations to be finished. Now we can look forward to a visit to the bar next year. Have a lovely visit with your daughter! There’s nothing better for a bad back than a visit to Paris!

Beautiful store indeed. Did you ask if they have rooms to let? 98 degrees would make me a desperate woman.

What good ideas for a hot afternoon à Paris.

Years ago I bought my son that exact same Richard Scarry book! Just in case you didn’t know, that’s Lowly Worm on the cover 🙂

Ditto Peggy B about nothing better for a bad back … one more sleep but somehow I doubt you’ll get much tonight. Yay your daughter ‘s on her way! Safe travels and big hugs coming up soon!

You have captured many lovely and interesting shots of Le Bon Marche. I have two favorites, the unique figurines in Housewares and the mannequines in dresses and leaves for their hair.

Today’s retreat from the heat was a treat. Rhyming was not my intent. Lol. You look cool, calm and collected in your cute dress. I would hate for you to have missed all this adventure. Waiting to hear of your daughter’s arrival.

That little dress is like wearing nothing…the coolest thing I have which I bought on the street for 15 euros. My kind of Paris shopping. I have not been able to wear 90% of the clothes I brought with me because the temps have been so warm. My poor daughter is stuck in NYC due to bad storms and if the flight goes, it will be at least 3 hours late! Feel so badly for her.

Thank you Linda! I have followed you many years from afar! Today you inspired me to comment! I have never seen a better way to deal with the heat in a climate changed Paris!!

Yes, I agree. I try to be apolitical on my blog but Paris is scorching. All the trees are dropping their leaves, plants are dying, and the city is so polluted from the stale air. We have been here since June 15 and it has rained for 30 minutes one time. Last night’s predicted rain never came so still the dust, dirt and pollution. It’s had a negative effect on everything. We are due some rain now on Thursday but if that doesn’t come, we will suffer through to the end of our trip. It’s most disturbing to see what’s happened over the past 15 years. Still, some deny it!

I was trying to retrieve the memory of where Brad and I stayed when we were in Paris years ago. It was the Hotel Lutecia! I’m so happy to see your post since I couldn’t remember. I hope the heat subsides for you. We enjoyed our time there and with you and Bernie. Enjoy Natalie!
