Have thoroughly enjoyed this brief trip way up north. I could easily handle those temps, especially now. Truly rugged, beautiful country. Reminded me a lot of our trip to Nova Scotia, minus the fiords.

One last chance to see the beauty of the midnight sun! I’m glad you felt up to today’s excursion. Can you imagine living there year-round? Oh dear!

Linda, your Norwegian adventure inspires me to work harder to learn where exactly in Norway my Thompson ancestors came from. I’m going back to my great aunt’s narrative family history to see what I can find, and also the family tree, but I don’t remember that there was a town. But maybe I never noticed. I do know they immigrated to USA from Norway, ended up in Chicago, then came to Tenn, and then Mobile.

Fabulous, L&B! Especially have loved the photos of the red houses against the more muted colours of the mountains, sea and sky. And lovely to have the special times with Pierre and Laurie.

What a contrast to the Paris weather! You can shed your woollies on the plane back here 🙂 Safe travels et à bientôt.

PS Sat. 4pm France v. Argentina (but Bernie probably knows this already!? Not sure if he follows World Cup the same as the Tour de France …) We are anticipating some noise on the streets esp. if France wins. Allez les Bleus!

This is an experience you will remember and cherish forever. I’m jealous ( not of the weather you had) but the sites, experiences & people you went with and encountered on your trip.

Wonderful, Linda! My cousins have LOVED the Alabama heat. No complaints. By the way, when we were there in 2014, it was the hottest it had been in 100 years. Highs in the 90s. And no AC. But what a beautiful country. Thanks for sharing your journey.
