A Busy Hot Day in Paris
Bonjour mes amis,
Wow, busy times here in very hot weather. Not much time for blogging but the pictures are too much fun to pass up.
After an exhausting and somewhat disappointing day at Disney on Thursday, Natalie and crew were exhausted. They didn’t get back until 1:30 in the morning. Needless to say, we got off to a very late start yesterday and made adjustments to our itinerary. The boys are LEGO fans and wanted to see what they had at Galeries Lafayette. We had never seen SO many people before in our 20 years here. I was told it was some kind of holiday weekend and I believe it. Even the rooftop was so crowded that it was hard to move around. We lost Bernie in the process, then couldn’t find anywhere to eat. We ended up in the Gourmet Food section across from the main store in what I think was a Greek restaurant. It was stifling hot in there but we survived.
There was time for a stop at the Pierre Hermes counter for some macarons!

Natalie decided she wanted to go to the Luxembourg Gardens which was a long haul from where we were and probably in the upper 80’s. The boys had a blast “floating the boats.”
We have our usual favorite photo venues:
My, how the time flies in Paris. People tend to forget about travel time and the hours just get away from you. It was almost 5 when we got back to the apartments for a “rest” before Natalie’s birthday dinner at Le Georges. It’s a lovely spot on top of the Pompidou Museum but it was HOT, HOT, HOT. A tribute to my son-in-law Steve who has a horrible cold. He hung in there and felt a little better after some food and beverage. Truly a beautiful night and sunset. Happy Birthday, Natalie!
It was an exhausting but delightful day with a funny ending. Natalie’s toilet stopped working so we had to accommodate them last night. All is well this morning. Now if we can just figure out their darn dryer!!
Hope you enjoyed the photos many of which Natalie took. She’s a great photographer .
A bientôt

Looks like you made Natalie’s birthday special and fun! You and Bernie know Paris so well that you always manage the bumps in the road. Crowded cafes? No problem. Go to the food hall across the street. It may have been hot, you look cool and chic in your lovely yellow dress! Hope that the weather cools down a bit for y’all.

The photography is getting better and better. Someone is doing a good job of picking the composition of the pics. The color and framing of 1st balcony picture was good. Always like the Reflection pool at the gardens. I hope the boys learned to appreciate maps from Bernie. Maps give you a much more complete view of where you are and what’s around you that following the dotted line on a cell phone. I hope y’all are having as much fun as you appear to be having.
Thank you
