A Cooler Pleasant Day in Paris
Bonsoir,
Today has given some relief from the heat remaining in the high 80’s, which while still hot, is nothing like it has been. We are grateful!
We had a slow, easy day which began this morning by going in search of the very helpful magazine “Where Paris.” It contains all the latest happenings around Paris by month, and we always use it as a reference guide. It formerly has been at the tourist kiosks around town but no more. We found it late this afternoon at the beautiful Marriott on the Champs Elysees. We entered the hotel as though we belonged there, asked for the magazine which they had and then sat in the comfortable lobby for a refreshment. It’s always a good spot for a clean restroom if you’re ever in Paris!
We stayed on the Champs for outside dining at one of the more reasonable restaurants, L’Alsace. Bernie had mussels and I had trout, forgetting of course that one gets the entire fish- head, tail, skin and all the bones. You have to be careful when eating on Les Champs because some of the spots are ridiculously expensive, especially the famous Fouquet’s.
Our photos today are a bit of this and that-interesting street shots that we hope you will enjoy.
Have a great evening,
Linda & Bernie

Nice to have a cool pleasant day. I used to love the dogs also, until I heard that they are sometimes drugged to keep them calm. The beggars think people will be more generous if they have a puppy or two with them. Now I worry about the dogs. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but it does make me see them in a different light.

Glad to see you took it easy Friday. Lounging in a cool and pleasant lobby sounds like a nice way to spend some down time. Is it important to know how to pace yourself?

Hi Pat,
I’m so glad you’re following the blog. Ever been to Paris? Yes, it’s important to pace yourself or you can wear out pretty easily.

I haven’t been, but my wife Sybil spent a few days there as part of a tour. She seems to be seeing parts of Paris that she wasn’t able to on her tour. Thank you.
