A Stroll on the Left Bank
Bonjour,
We waked this morning to glorious rain coming down steadily which is SO needed. The city is dirty and dusty! The temp is 59 degrees and feels like 52 according to my weather app. Wonderfully cool but ironic given that it’s only the second day of the beach! Weather is definitely a trickster.
Yesterday, after another slow start, we took in the fabulous blue beach chairs along the river, witnessed the first clouds in the sky after days of only stark clear blue and decided to lunch at Le Flore en L’Ile. It’s definitely our favorite spot and my lunch was a pretty picture.

Line 4 is closed for a long while which gets us across the river so we decided just to stroll and sightsee with our feet. We don’t spend enough time on the Left Bank. I will caption where appropriate and hope you enjoy.

By the way, I mentioned my granddaughter yesterday and she’s a beauty.
Happy Sunday!

What got glorious pictures.. And yes a pretty pretty grand daughter. But how Ironic, Paris Plage started and it rains! Hope it is enough to cool down. Im going back to the City today and while I dread the traffic, Im hoping that the posting of 75-85 degree weather is true! I can easily tolerate that! Enjoy!

Linda,
The photos give a sense of your surroundings and how pleasing the area is. It’s nice the weather is giving the city a bath and hopefully it will make things cooler and cleaner. Hope your good weather continues. It’s a lovely 72 here, alas heading to 90 later today. It is after all Summer in the South.

I see E-bikes are street legal. I don’t think I’ve seen one with two kids aboard, though. Odd that the new smoking ban exempts cafe terraces…

There would be another revolution if they stop cigarette smoking in street cafes. THat’s about the only place left now. Still a lot of cigarettes around, especially with the young people. I don’t understand that as they have more info on the health dangers than any previous generation. Some say it’s to keep them slender.

We love strolling the left bank! Thanks for taking us along. Wonder why line 4 is closed and if it will be open by the time we get there. Yes, Father and Sons has benefited several times from Jim’s spirit of French style.

I’m not sure but will take note of the date it reopens. I know it’s closed for the rest of our visit. When do you arrive?
