Back in Paris and a New Apartment!
Bonsoir,
Today was the price we pay for having so much fun. We have changed beds, done four loads of laundry, scrubbed bathrooms, vacuumed, dusted, and packed! We are exhausted as we were preparing our rue St. Paul apartment for company arriving later this week. Actually, Bernie’s son is coming for the big birthday, and he and his friend will be enjoying rue St. Paul.
We are in a new apartment on rue Tournelles which is very nice and about a 5-7 minute walk from where we always stay. The pluses are many: only 19 steps up instead of 36, no second floor to negotiate, a dryer (!) and much nicer bathrooms. This apartment has central heat and air. Of course, there are some things we miss like the cushy, oversized leather chairs but overall this will be a nice home for the next two weeks.
Nothing sexy about this Paris day, just hard work. We are sharing photos of the new apartment since some of you have asked to see them. Enjoy!
First round of company comes tomorrow, Jan Smith and Tony Porter who have visited three times before. They are also excited to see our/their new abode. It will be like the Ritz compared to the tiny bedroom and bath they have adapted to on previous visits. I’m sure we’ll have some good times which makes for great blogging.
A bientot,
L&B

Welcome back! Wow, what a change in living arrangements!!! Sorry the weather was a bust on the cruise- we have hopes for better.

Hooray….home again! The new apt. looks great!
I’m hoping everyone enjoyed the cruise in spite of the weather and
that they did not gain too many pounds!
Now to get ready for the big B’Day Party! Not many of us get to go to Paris to
celebrate our birthday……congratulations Bernie!

This looks great! I know you’ll miss those chairs. I took such a wonderful nap with my legs draped over the side. I do hope you like it a whole lot. Fewer steps ought to make things easier. Now, where will you people watch over coffee at night?

Yes, we do miss the chairs and the sitting area is not as large but there are many things we do like. For me, I don’t have those extra 16 steps ten times a day inside. The area is not nearly as lively but it is getting dark now at 5:30 so the outside people-watching/coffee is not the same. I do believe we like summer best but this is special for the birthday festivities!

I love the new apartment!! It’s quite attractive. Bob and I are spending the night tonight in Albuquerque on our way to the Phoenix area. Looking forward to your next update.
