Catching Up on the Bass Visit to Paris
Bonjour mes amis,
We had just a regular day yesterday filled with washing and then drying down the street and a lovely dinner at what I call the happiest street in Paris, rue Montorgueil. If you’ve been to Paris and haven’t been here, you’ve missed a treat! We’ve often thought of getting an apartment there BUT it is so far away from the river where my heart is, and it would also be quite loud. We inevitably settle for our beloved rue St. Paul.

Natalie has worked so hard on editing ALL of her photos. I can’t let that effort go unnoticed or unrewarded so today is a deluge of photos from our final day together. First a trip to Notre Dame. If you were on the blog with us at Christmas, you’ve seen many of these.

Across the river and onto the Shakespeare bookstore.
I was constantly pounding the boys with some history about Paris, Right Bank, Left Bank, the islands, Louis XIII, Napoleon, Haussmann, etc. etc. etc. Hopefully, they will remember a little. Next stop was the Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe.
Refreshment time at the George V cafe where our friend of many years , Benjamin, works.
Next stop was the Apple Store which is not just any Apple Store. It’s housed in a gorgeous former apartment building.
James is quite the artist!!!
Our evening was dinner at Au Bourguignon du Marais and Steve fell in love with the boeuf Bourguignon. Natalie on the other hand linked up with our friend Richard Nahem to purchase a special bracelet. Check it out at EyePreferParis or his jewelry website.
Wow, I’m tired of posting but hopefully you will never tire of such a fun day. June 4th is Natalie’s true birthday and now safely home, we wish her Joyeux Anniversaire!

Natalie’s bracelet is lovely! What a busy day for you all! Notre Dame is so bright and light filled now. so sad that it took the fire to get it cleaned up. And I didn’t realize there are still lost of scaffolds around it! The photos are wonderful. Kudos to Natalie!

Great photos, Natalie! Great artwork, James. Did he keep an art journal of the trip? I probably missed something, but what’s a “bass visit?”

The photos of new and already visited sites, enhanced by pictures of you and your family make me smile. What a great trip so far. Love, Cindi

Did #2 son pick up his interest in drawing from anyone in the family? Who prepared the itinerary for this trip? Did it seem to suit the boys? Did they ever compare London to Paris? Does Natalie pick up some sort of jewelry each trip? Glad you didn’t let these Nalalie pictures go unshown — again outstanding.
Thank you

I made the itinerary. Steve is an art major so he and Carson both have the ability. James more so than Carson. I believe they liked Paris better than London. Steve says he’d like to come back!

Such beautiful photographs of what was surely a joyous family time together. These are just exquisite. As are her bracelets. Happy birthday, Natalie. Rest now, Linda and Bernie!
