Perfect Weather Day for Seeing Paris
Bonjour,
Yesterday was another 12,000 step day which started with one of our favorite spots, Miss Manon’s boulangerie. As usual, we were running late so grabbed a bite of breakfast for Natalie’s family on the run. We barely made our reserved time at the Musée D’Orsay.
Steve is an art major so he was in his heyday explaining all about Impressionism to the boys. Just like ALL of Paris, the place was loaded with people which does compromise the visit somewhat. But it hopefully created a memory for Carson and James. Both of them are fantastic artists in their own right. You remember from previous posts that the d’Orsay was a train station. Absolutely fantastic. When the trains became too long for the station, there was no way to expand it as it sits right on the river. Instead of tearing it down, they made this gorgeous museum.

We enjoyed a quick trip up around the Le Louvre through the Tuileries, then back to the St. Paul area where we caught a wedding at the church.
It’s been a bit crazy this morning after a bad night for Natalie and family. They love to stay out very late and got caught in the celebration crazies that turned violent. I’m so sorry that happened to them.
We’re off to the market, brunch and then Montmartre.

What a beautiful family! Both boys take after Natalie in looks. When they see these amazing paintings in art books, they can say, “I saw that in person!” Enjoy your time with your family.

Maybe you said, but is Natalie’s husband a chef or interested in food? If so, does he have opinion on France’s food so far.

Steve is a Methodist minister who happens to be a great chef. He has very much enjoyed the food and even tried escargot the other night.

Linda,
Thank goodness the weather improved and you had pleasant temperatures to enjoy your day. Sorry to hear about Natalie and family’s encounter with a celebration gone bad. Pictures of our favorite bakery and the d’Orsay museum brought back fond memories. I know you will all enjoy Montmartre today. Wishing you safe travels and continued good weather.

Love the art and architecture; your pictures are the next best thing to being there. Sorry that Natalie’s family had a bad night experience, though.
