A Cooler Day in Paris
Bonjour,
Yesterday was a great reset! Overall, it was about ten degrees cooler with a high of 85 which was still hot but nothing like the day before. The city was recuperating after a wild and crazy night with the Fete. The streets were still a bit littered but the heaps of garbage had been whisked away in the early morning hours.
We were just in “slow-go” mode most of the day conserving our energy. If you’ve ever had vertigo, you know that it’s the absolute pits. I am fighting to stay upright with every step and it’s exhausting. We had a nice brunch in a quiet spot, rested during the afternoon and then met Hannah for an early dinner over in the 16th arrondissement which is her area. She has been so good about coming to us and we felt obligated to return the favor. She flies out for Maryland mid-day. We will miss her!

Today’s high is only 76!!! And tomorrow Bernie’s cousins arrive from Alsace. We are thrilled to see them one more time. I’m hoping to feel better soon so I can enjoy their visit.
A bientôt

I (and my mother before me) have suffered from vertigo, though not as seriously as you do. You have my total sympathy. Your courage is amazing. Glad for the cooler weather. Enjoy the cousins.

Sounds like the perfect Parisian day. A little flaneuring and a nice dîner with a friend! That little doggie didn’t look so little!

Linda,
Sorry to hear you’re struggling with vertigo. Hope it resolves its self soon. The cooler temperatures certainly make life easier. Hope those continue. I know you are both thrilled that Bernie’s cousins are coming over for a visit. Take care of yourself.

So sorry about the Vertigo. I understand completely.

I am a vertigo girl. I understand. What type is yours? Mine is not positional and a physical therapist pretty much cured me with neck exercises. Wish that was possible for you!
So enjoying your posts.

Cervicogenic vertigo, not positional. Where did you go because I am so discouraged with it?
June 23, 2025 @ 5:25 pm
Linda, there are pills for vertigo that stop it. Can you see a Dr.?

Lin, Merci! I am taking Meclezine but it doesn’t help much. Also has side effects.

Linda. I get BPV also. You can take allergy pills like Claritin to help or get ‘dizzy’ pills at pharmacy. Makes. Big difference.

Mine is not positioning but rather something involving my neck…cervicogenic.
