Autumn cool has arrived in Paris
Bonsoir mes amis,
Charles and Judy Gattis left Paris this morning to catch their plane at Orly. We put them in the cab with many hugs and well wishes after eight glorious days exploring together. The rest of our day was taken up with cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping. We needed a catch-up day and this was it!
Tonight it was dark by 8pm…ugh… which is very different. The temperature is at least 20 degrees cooler than this time last week, enough for a sweater or jacket!
We ate dinner near the river and then shopped for a scarf for Bernie. In the process, we caught the only pics of the day, a bride who was freezing! Bless her heart. She was being photographed on the bridge from Ile St. Louis to Notre Dame. By the time Bernie got the shot, she was all wrapped up.
Here’s an interesting observation from this year thus far: I hear more strange languages on the street than I hear French, much of it from Middle Eastern countries. I’m thinking that signifies a rather drastic change.
Fall has arrived and hopefully tomorrow, we’ll have interesting pics for you. It’s Fashion week in Paris and we plan to go to the Jardin des Tuilleries where large chalets have been erected. Certainly, we will have no access to anything but might sneak a photo or two as folks come and go. The fashions are for spring of 2015.
Hope everyone is having a good September. I’m missing college football but understand both Roll Tide and War Eagle are appropriate from this past weekend’s performance.
A tout a l’heure,
L&B
