Getting set for Paris

Last evening we joined Charles and Judy Gattis for the City Lights and Stars concert at Burritt on the Mountain.  It was a gorgeous evening, perfect for outdoor dining.

Just as we were getting everything set up, Bernie said, “Wait!  I have a surprise for everyone.”  Then he proceeded to put a little tablecloth (actually a dish towel) across the cooler and pulled out four champagne glasses.  Then he meticulously made a Kir Royale for each of us.

And this is significant why?   Because Charles and Judy are visiting us in Paris this year.  This was Bernie’s first introduction to Paris by teaching them to love its  signature drink.  It was our first toast together but not our last, for sure!
