Moving Day in Paris
Bonjour,
After a very busy morning of packing and unpacking, we are in our new apartment which will be our home for the second month of our Paris visit! We LOVE it…very light, breezy and much more room than we had before. However, we will remember 42BIS on rue St. Paul with much fondness and do appreciate the hospitality of our landlord and lady, Frank and Vinciane. And thank goodness the weather was our friend as we hauled suitcases with the help of Bernie’s son, James, and his partner, Stephen.
Our new abode is just a few blocks over. Here is the website if you’d like to take a look. Sorry could not get it to hot link. Copy and paste into your browser.

I’ve spent the morning cleaning and arranging. Yes, I’m a little fussy and like to wipe and disinfect everything to make it ours. There are two drawbacks: 78 steps and a WC built for a midget.
It’s definitely a small person’s toilet, but we will make it work! Otherwise, plenty of space and a workable kitchen with a dishwasher, so I can begin to prepare our meals here more often.
I read a most interesting article today about why the French are losing some of their interest in baguettes! Wonders never cease. I tried to make this a hot link too, but the process is not cooperating.

A final word about a great experience last night. After a lovely dinner, we took James and Stephen to something we have never seen before, the light show at Les Invalides called Nuit Aux Invalides which showcases the history of France in magnificent projected images on the facade, animations and wonderful sound projection. It was magnificent! It lasts for 50 minutes and here’s some advice if you ever plan to go. Take a little fold-up stool or chair or you will be standing the entire time in the massive courtyard. It’s expensive: 20 euros per person which made us consider bailing out at the entrance. However, a bystander very emphatically told us not to do that as the show was “exceptional” and he was correct. We were tired puppies afterward and didn’t find the bed until 12:30am. Sorry, no photography was allowed, so no pics to share. However, make time in your Paris visit to do this. Check to see which nights the show is in English.
Here’s some café chairs for today. Could be a duplicate. We’ve got to get with it and find some new ones.
It’s very nice to be resettled and also very nice to have mostly sunshine today! We are grateful.
A tout à l’heure

It is a lovely place, so bright and airy! Lots of steps. I guess you can stop for a rest every 25 or so steps. We’ve walked along that street many times. It’s a wonderful little old Marais street.

I think we will be very happy here.
