Paris says Bonjour!
Dear Friends,
We have arrived with absolutely no travel issues, smooth sailing all the way. It’s very odd today because we cannot settle into our cozy little apartment as usual on rue St. Paul until Sunday. We are in a very small but very clean hotel around the corner called l’Hotel Jeanne d’Arc. We couldn’t occupy the room until 2pm so ate lunch at the cafe below our apartment, Le Bouquet St. Paul and met new friends as the old proprietor has moved on to a different restaurant in Montmartre. We will definitely seek him out.
It’s a glorious day with a fair amount of wind and blue sky. The number of tourists seems to be less as we walked around which is a great thing and the leaves on the trees are already beginning to turn along the Seine. We unpacked enough to function in the hotel until Sunday and now Bernie is off to the phone store (orange) to activate his phone with a French SIM card. If that plays out true to form, what he thinks will take 15 minutes will be two hours.
Our camera was packed up for most of the day. I took two pictures on my cell phone and have tried to copy and paste them here. One is of a gal at the airport who had on what appeared to be a diaper (!) and the other some new “benches” at l’Hotel de Ville . Both might fall under the “Only in Paris” category.
Unfortunately, I could not get the photos from the phone to the iPad. Someone please help and I’ll send the pics tomorrow.
For today, we are two tired puppies but happy to be in the city that has come to be our second home.
A bientot,
L&B

So glad it was a good trip. When you have wireless, if your ipad and phone share your icloud account, the photos should appear in the photo stream on both. Sometimes you must “refresh”‘ it takes a few moments. Perhaps that wa not the answer you seek. Looking forward to seeing the photos when you can post them. Enjoy Paris!!

Thanks, Donna, for the tip. May also try to copy the photos and email to myself so they will appear on the iPad.

Linda, I’ve done the trick of emailing pictures to myself. But I’m sure than when Charles and Judy arrive Charles will have some helpful advice about transferring photos! Myra and I are so looking forward to following your journey. The “feel of fall” finally arrived late last night in Huntsville and today is a dream. It is a crisp 72 degrees under sunny skies just after 4 pm. The weather change inspired Myra to cook a large pot of chili – for the games tonight and the freezer.

June Krinsky-RudderI’m on the planning comtitmee for East Boston Open Studios 2011 (May 21 22, noon 6pm both days). We’d be interested in having a bike tour affiliated with our Open Studios. How would we go about coordinating this? Please let me know. Thanks. -June
