Strolling Surprises around Ile de la Cite in Paris
Bonjour mes amis,
We can’t tell you how many times we’ve walked across, around and beside Ile de la Cite in the heart of Paris, home to Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, Palais du Justice and beautiful bridges. HOWEVER, we had never been around on the opposite side toward the point and lovely park.
At Bernie’s suggestion, that was our stroll today and what fun we had discovering some wonderful spots. The totally overcast skies made for perfect picture-taking. It was just barely cool, actually in the upper 60’s with no rain. I will try to caption these well so you can take the stroll with us and then conclude with the roasted chestnuts that we found on the street, our first! Autumn was truly in the air today with a touch of color here and there, crisp dry leaves underfoot and rustling leaves still clinging reluctantly to the trees in the park. All in all, a great day in Paris.
Tomorrow at midday, we depart for the beginning of our journey on the Rhine river cruise with our friends from Burritt. We are unsure about internet and Wi-Fi so if we disappear for a week, you will understand. If we have connectivity, we will do our best to keep the blog filled with interesting sites and lots of eye candy for your enjoyment.
Happy weekend,
L&B

Have a thoroughly enjoyable cruise. Take copious notes as we’ll be taking the same cruise in April and will be curious to know all about it.

We will. Charles would have loved where we were today and so perfect for pics.

At the symphony and missing you! But still wish we were there!
